Going into transplant...

So, we got the official news last week that Mini is going into transplant tomorrow. Her team has found a perfect match (thank you to everyone for your love and prayers)...today Mini and I will take an evening spin through the Emerald City to see the tree and lights and ice skating...Tomorrow begins a journey that will change our lives...

Hi, I'm the mother of a 15 year old girl living with Sickle Cell. My daughter (Mini) is about to go through an Un-related Bone Marrow Transplant to cure her of this terrible disease. What was once just science fiction is now here..We created this blog to document the process and to keep in touch with friends and family while she recovers in isolation. I also want this blog to become a resource for other families living with this disease; as well as inspire others, especially African Americans to become bone marrow donors and save a life.
