Mini and I can't wait to meet her donor...You have to wait one year before meeting your donor...that means we will meet Mini's donor this December 2011...What a Christmas Present that will be.

Hi, I'm the mother of a 15 year old girl living with Sickle Cell. My daughter (Mini) is about to go through an Un-related Bone Marrow Transplant to cure her of this terrible disease. What was once just science fiction is now here..We created this blog to document the process and to keep in touch with friends and family while she recovers in isolation. I also want this blog to become a resource for other families living with this disease; as well as inspire others, especially African Americans to become bone marrow donors and save a life.
